Region 9 Leadership Conference was held at the Grand Hotel in Cape May, nj.

Registration began on Sunday, August 19, 2018 with opening session  at 7pm Sunday evening.

Many UAW Locals participated in The Labor Day Parade in WNY on Monday, September 3, 2018.
A great time was had by all who attended.

On July 26, 2018 UAW Region 9 Veterans Committee and many volunteers held a Hotdog Roast at the Buffalo VA Hospital located at 3495 Bailey Avenue in Buffalo. Volunteers started arriving at 9:30 am and were ready to serve the approximate crowd of 250 by 11am. 

Director Jeff Binz and Assistant Director Tom Ashton were in attendance and assisted where needed. Much gratitude and appreciation to Region 9 Veterans Committee and all those that volunteered their time for this great event!

On June 21, 2018 at The Ponds in Bath, NY volunteers from Locals 774 GM Tonawanda, 686 GM Lockport, 897 Ford Stamping, Local 55 and Local 424 along with Wayne Bieger, VCAP/Region 9 and Ed McGowan, Area Director enjoyed a fun filled day with our Veterans. The committee and volunteers took 25 Veterans and 3 staff members from the V.A. Hospital in Bath, NY on a day long fishing trip.

The 37th Constitutional Convention was held at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Mi with registration beginning on Sunday, June 10, 2018 and opening session on Monday, June 11-14, 2018.

This convention is held every four years where elections for the International Executive Board and Regional Directors are held, any and all new resolutions, are proposed, discussed and voted on by the elected delegates from each local union.

The .2018 Albany Lobbying Conference was held March 11, 2018- March 14, 2018. The Conference took place at the Desmond Hotel in Albany, NY 

The Conference agenda included many  speakers, Plenary sessions and of course lobbying at the Capitol on many UAW issues.

Some of the issues that were lobbied on  included jobs, the economy, funding for various services, and unemployment insurance, just to name a few.
