TCPL SSA Negotiations Update 4/15

Dear SSA Siblings, 

We met with Library Management today April 15th, from 9am-5pm at the Library. 

Management Representatives: Emerson Demeester-Lane (Director), Kathy Weinberg (Library Board of Trustees) 

Association Representatives: Mitchell Hall, Katylyn Hulbert, Sam MacQueen, Shelby Buche, John Tavares (Local 2300 President), Chauncey Bennett (Local 2300 1st Vice President), Lonnie Everett (Region 9 Servicing Representative) 

During our third meeting with the management team, we were able to successfully pass language to define seniority. We have given management our first wage proposal, which has been tabled until the next meeting, at earliest.  

For our next meeting, we’ll be continuing to be addressing appropriate Artificial Intelligence integration for the library space, and the protection of union jobs. Overall, we are happy to report that negotiations continue to move in a positive direction.  

May 5th 9am-5pm will be the next Negotiation meeting, as well as other scheduled meetings to follow.
