Library SSA Negotiation Updates 5/5

Dear SSA Siblings,  

We met with Library Management today May 5th, from 9am-5pm at the Library.  

Management Representatives: Emerson Demeester-Lane (Director), Kathy Weinberg (Library Board of Trustees)  

Association Representatives: Shelby Buche, Mitchell Hall, Katylyn Hulbert, John Tavares (Local 2300 President), Chauncey Bennett (Local 2300 1st Vice President), Lonnie Everett (Region 9 Servicing Representative)  

During our fourth meeting with the management team, we were able to further conversations on the possible implementation of bilingual pay, as well as further having productive conversations on defining and creating boundaries for AI in the library workspace. We received a pass from management regarding wage tables and have made a counterproposal regarding the wage increases for 2026 & 2027. For our next meeting,  we'll work to continue making movement on these topics.

May 7th 9am-5pm will be the next Negotiation meeting, as well as other scheduled meetings to follow.
