The UAW Education Department will hold its annual Leadership Essentials Institute on October 6 – 11 2024. The institute will be held at The Walter and May Reuther UAW Family Education Center in Onaway,
Michigan.
This institute is designed for current local union elected leaders, their alternates, and aspiring local union leaders who want to build a stronger UAW for today and tomorrow. In order to facilitate learning on a level considerate of participants, we are offering two tracks: one for current elected leadership, and a second for aspiring leaders.

Please select delegates who fit into one of these two approved tracks. Aspiring Leaders will attend workshops that enhance and improve their leadership skills and running of union meetings, and emphasize how the core values of our union are essential to our success.
Returning Leaders will participate in workshops related to the responsibilities of being officers at their locals, grievance handling, and using Member-to-Member 2.0 to improve and enhance our standing committees and overall communication.
The plenary session will cover topics such as our Duty of Fair
Representation, UAW Ethical Practices, and Article 33 of the UAW Constitution, Leadership Skills and Innovation.
