UAW ACTION NEEDED – SUPPORT TCAT

Brothers, Sisters, and Siblings,

The Tompkins County Legislature is holding a public meeting Thursday at 5:00 PM, 121 E Court St, Ithaca, NY 14850 and we need UAW members to show up and speak in support of TCAT.

One of the biggest concerns with cuts to TCAT funding is the impact on our members and the people we serve. Less funding can mean reduced or eliminated routes, making it harder for working people to get to work, school, medical appointments, and essential services. Many of our own UAW members depend on TCAT every day.

TCAT is economically critical to this community. We are asking the County to maintain current operating funding through a budget amendment, especially as costs continue to rise.

This also directly impacts our UAW members who work at TCAT. Our contract expires at the end of 2027. We need TCAT financially stable so we can continue fighting for good union wages, benefits, staffing, and a strong contract.

We need UAW members at the Tompkins County Legislature Thursday at 5 PM. Come speak about what route cuts would mean for you, your coworkers, your family, or our community. Even if you don't want to speak, showing up in support matters.

Can't make it in person? You can participate by Zoom. Here is the link

Please show up and stand with our TCAT members and everyone who depends on public transportation in Tompkins County.
