UAW Local 2300 TCAT Bargaining Team Update – back to the table…

 

Happy New Year!

 

Today’s full day session with TCAT management started with caucus and review of next steps as well as reviewing our economic and non-economic demands. When management came in just before lunch, we submitted an additional demand on Article 33, Attendance Policy, and how unexcused absences are tracked. Management then came back with counter proposals to our non-economic demands submitted before the break.

 

We caucused and then brought management back for questions on their counterproposals to Article 6, Hours of Work and Overtime, Article 8, Holidays both articles to avoid double punishment for infractions, Article 24, Seniority – there were lots of questions on updating bidding procedures, Article 30 Labor/Management Committee to improve staff input on changes in the workplace, several questions on Article 32, Open Work Board Assignment and Extra Work Board Process to allow more flexibility in refusing extra work without penalty.
