UAW TCAT Bargaining Update

Thank you to everyone who came out to the rally last Friday morning! Your support is what keeps us moving forward!
Progress is being made with regards to wages, although there is still much work to be done. Since our last update, management has passed two proposals, both of which did a better job at reflecting the priorities of UAW. However, both proposals would still leave many members worse off than they were financially in 2019. The last management proposal included step increases of as little as THREE CENTS. (that is $.03)
UAW continues to focus on our priorities of fair wages for all members, equal pay for equal work, and ensuring staffing levels meet the needs of our community without forcing our members to work 6 days a week, enduring exhaustion and facing burnout.
While our members and the community were displaying their support and solidarity outside the negotiating room during the rally, the bargaining team was able to have a positive discussion with management around some of the issues they had previously rejected, including ensuring the bargaining team can focus on the work of bargaining instead of pulling double duty and negotiating at the table through days off, without pay; also increasing TCAT’s 401(k) contributions to members with 10 or more years’ experience.
UAW incorporated the information gleaned during that discussion into our current set of demands. We awaited management’s response, which was received towards the end of today’s half-day session and is currently being reviewed for our counter.

· Tuesday, 2/25: UAW/TCAT half-day bargaining session
· Thursday, 2/27: UAW/TCAT half-day bargaining session
· Thursday 2/27: Rally at TCAT offices
