1-14-2025: UAW 2300 TCAT Bargaining Update – Open House Day 2
Thank you to all our members who have come to our “open houses” or stopped by while the bargaining team is in caucus! Your input has been invaluable and has led to new demands being submitted, while also providing an opportunity to address any questions with the demands we have drafted and submitted.
Since our last update we have reached tentative agreements on four more issues including updating the bidding and rebid processes, protecting members from retaliation for reporting and refusing unsafe work, and creating mechanisms for communication about upcoming changes in the workplace. We have also submitted demands for the use of video in issuing discipline and revising the eligibility requirements for the Sick Bank Leave Program.
We have been continuing to work on the issue of mandation. In every conversation with our members, we hear about how mandation (and the threat of mandation) continues to negatively affect our employees, in both direct and indirect ways. This issue is an obviously significant contribution to members’ feelings of burnout and frustration.
We have also heard from members that training on new equipment and procedures is an area for needed improvement.
We are continuing to work hard on all of these open issues and greatly appreciate the unprecedented engagement from our members. Tomorrow we are back to the table and invite TCAT Members for the third day of “open house” between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
In solidarity,
UAW/TCAT Bargaining Team
