Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We are pleased to announce the  (3) winners of the 2018 UAW Region 9/Tom Fricano Scholarship.

Reet Patel, Daughter Tushar Patel, member of Local 8888 (New Jersey State Winner)

Peyton Popard, Granddaugher of Donald Wells, retired member of local 897 (New York State Winner)

Mikayla Feldbauer, Daughter of Barbara Feldbauer, member of local 3400 ( Pennsylvania Winner)

Region 9 Leadership Conference was held at the Grand Hotel in Cape May, NJ

Registration began on Sunday, August 19, 2018 with an opening session  at 7 pm Sunday evening. The conference ran through Thursday, August 23, 2018. 

Many UAW Locals participated in The Labor Day Parade in WNY on Monday, September 3, 2018.
A great time was had by all who attended.

On August 2, 2018 Region 9 Veterans Committee along with volunteers from WNY locals held a Hot Dog Roast at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Batavia, NY.  Many thanks to everyone who volunteered to serve our Veterans and appreciation and gratitude to all the Veterans who served and protected the USA!

On June 21, 2018 at The Ponds in Bath, NY volunteers from Locals 774 GM Tonawanda, 686 GM Lockport, 897 Ford Stamping, Local 55 and Local 424 along with Wayne Bieger, VCAP/Region 9 and Ed McGowan, Area Director enjoyed a fun filled day with our Veterans. The committee and volunteers took 25 Veterans and 3 staff members from the V.A. Hospital in Bath, NY on a day long fishing trip.

The Civil & Human Rights Conference was held at the UAW Black Lake Education Center and many Committee members from the following Locals were in attendance Local 1069, 897 and 1097.

Finding union-made products can be difficult because few items are labeled “union-made.” However, this guide provides you with a list of tools for locating UAW-made goods
