Region 9 Leadership Conference was held at the Grand Hotel in Cape May, NJ
Registration began on Sunday, August 19, 2018 with an opening session at 7 pm Sunday evening. The conference ran through Thursday, August 23, 2018.
During the week of the Leadership Conference, Director Jeff Binz and Asst. Director Tom Ashton made it a priority that we had IEB speakers, educational guest speakers and events to keep us all busy. Vice President- Terry Dittes and Vice President, Cindy Estrada delivered messages to us which were inspiring and very informative.
Blair Simmons, International UAW Legal Dept. provided an FMLA presentation, as well as presentations held by Amy Mugford, LUIS presentation, Josh Nassar International UAW-Director, Legislative Dept., Jennifer Kelly, International UAW - Director, Research Dept. Edward Balukas, Region 9 CAP/Retirees presentation, Sharon Masino, Region 9 Education update and Irene Poray and George Nalevanko UAW Region 9 Auditors, presentation.
Laurel Brennan, Secretary-Treasure NJ AFL-CIO spoke to us about the many challengages that we are facing in Labor today. Also in attendance were Senators from NJ and PA as well as US Congressmembers.
Monday included a Whale watch which was enjoyed by all who attended, there was a morning of mini golf for the children and the awesome Director's Dinner on the rooftop overlooking the beach on a beautiful evening.
Many thanks and much gratitude to Director Jeff Binz and Asst. Director Tom Ashton for ensuring all the Delegates, Retirees and Staff were provided a tremendous Leadership Conference.
